Each case in the board of appeal database has a unique case number. The interface allows queries such as G 1/91 or G1/91 or G0001/91. The search results will contain all available variants and translations of a case.
You can also use this field to search for cases which cite a particular decision. Simply enter the number of the decision in question. Any citing decisions will be indicated in that decision's bibliographic information.
Publishing and distribution data is available only for decisions published on the website from 2006.

Please enter at least the subclass (e.g. H04Q) you are looking for. The International Patent Classification (IPC) can be used to search for decisions relating to a certain technical field. The classification symbol is made up of a letter denoting the IPC section (e.g. H), followed by a two‑digit number denoting the IPC class (e.g. H04). This can be followed by the following sequence: a letter denoting the IPC subclass (e.g. H04Q), a number (1 to 3 digits) denoting the IPC main group (e.g. H04Q 7), a forward slash "/", and a number (1 to 3 digits) denoting the IPC subgroup (e.g. H04Q 7/38).
The application number refers to the patent document on which a case is based. Several decisions with different case numbers may refer to a single application number.
You can search by applicant name as spelled in the decision. Wild cards cannot be used.
Please bear in mind that not every decision contains a reference to an application title.
You can search by opponent name as spelled in the decision. Wild cards cannot be used.
